Twitter has suspended the account of the editor of OpIndia - Ajeet Bharti, because he used some words which according to Twitter violated the rules of Twitter.

We have often heard some people say that Twitter always conspires against the right wing and their accounts are deliberately suspended, and there are still many left-wing people on Twitter who are always violating the rules of Twitter. Yet their accounts are not suspended even after reporting a million.

Editor Ajit Bharti of OpIndia received an email yesterday via Twitter that his account is being reported because in some tweets he has used words that are wrong as per the Twitter rule.

Email-

Hello,

We have received a complaint regarding your account, @ajeetbharti, for the following content.

Tweet ID: 1323558572433698816

Tweet Text: Good to see more leaders removing 'radical' from their statements on Islamic terror. It was never 'radical Islam', it was always 'Islam'. France did away with the 'radical' bullshit, so should others. Just call it Islamic terror', radical by default. [url]

We have investigated the reported content and could not identify any violations of the Twitter Rules (https://support.twitter.com/articles/ 18311) or German law. Accordingly, we have not taken any action at this time.

Sincerely,
Twitter

The left leaning bias of Twitter is very well known. Most of it's employees as well the CEO are left leaning.

As far as banning Right Wing accounts is concerned, I believe it is due to rising influence of right wing in the global political order. Left wingers consider themselves to be champions of free speech and liberalism but they can be equally hateful as right wingers, this is apparent when some views don't match with theirs.

Hence, any left opposing view may be considered as hate speech etc. Therefore the banning of accounts.

Twitter users suspect that these tweets are mass reported by people who searched these tweets with keywords and report them for self-harm because if this was automated, thousands of accounts would be blocked or restricted simultaneously.

It is not the first time right-wing Twitter users are targeted and their accounts suspended. Earlier, Twitter user Sonam Mahajan’s account and backup account both got suspended, following which, many right-wing Twitter users had reported attempts were being made to hack into their accounts. Prior to that also we had seen cases of right-leaning accounts getting suspended. Similarly, many accounts associated with ABVP, the students’ arm of RSS, were mass suspended, only to be reinstated after protests. Similarly, in 2016 many Twitter accounts were suspended after posting anti-AAP tweets.
