Advocates served notice and said Sentiments of Hindus are also demolished with the demolishment of the Ancient Shiv lingam in TN.

The Public Works Department (PWD) has demolished several houses and temples in Thanjavur while making the fantastical claim that attempts were being made by the people to ‘take over’ the Samudra Lake in Thanjavur by constructing shops, temples, and houses.

Advocates served notice and said Sentiments of Hindus are also demolished with the demolishment of the Ancient Shiv lingam in TN.

Suddenly Ancient Shiv Lingam along with Mandir of Adimariamman temple in Thanjavur along with 90 other houses, shops and temples were demolished in very barbarous way due to which notice was issued by two Advocates one from Delhi High Court Adv. Yukti Rathi and from Mumbai High Court Adv. Ashutosh J. Dubey to the Public Works Department, Police Authority and Government of Tamil Nadu by claiming that the public Works department of Tamil Nadu hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus all over India.

Advocate Ashutosh J. Dubey Tweeted:

The prestigious Shiv lingam is demolished using JCB which crashed down Shiv lingam in parts which led to broke down of Hindus in large in tears , the destruction of Shiv lingam was done suddenly without giving any public information to devotees ,caretakers and Hindus who have utmost faith in the shiv lingam and Temple.

Hindu Organizations and the people reached the temple to protest against the barbaric demolition of the temple but following the heavy police deployment the crowd was overpowered and cases were filed against the protesters. The high-handedness of the authorities was visible when it bulldozed the ancient temple Shiv without bothering about the sentiments of the gathered Hindus who were protesting against the demolition.

The Public Works Department states that it is only implementing the court order and said that sufficient time had been given to the people to relocate the temple but as per devotees they were not even given time appeal in highest court for seeking legal remedies which is the basic right of every individual as per law and constitution.

The General secretary of the Hindu Front said not to demolish the temple, to give it a chance to appeal to the court but nobody listened to him and even he tried to commit suicide due to this act. Following which he climbed up the stairs of the Temple tower shaped as a Shiva lingam and jumped when the police forced. Although he was not much injured, the Tanjore Taluka police arrested him for attempting suicide.

Advocates said that court order was implemented and amended in wrong way with motive to hurt sentiments of Hindus who had established shiv lingam, who are care taking shiv lingam from long time ago. It is the wrong way to treat the sensitive matter of  Shiv lingam as sentiments of Hindus community was associated with that , the people who worship there are trying to suicide . Advocates in their notice asked for compensating the Hindus by again establishing the Shiv lingam with public apology statement stating to public at large.

Actor Artist Pritam Singh expressed his grief by saying "Jai shiv shambhu."

It is the right of every civilian to seek legal recourse but the PWD department neither waited for the 10 weeks stipulated by the Madurai HC nor gave the aggrieved parties sufficient time to relocate the temple.
