BJP candidate Gopal Chandra Saha was shot dead. BJP candidate from Malda assembly constituency Gopal Chandra Saha visited Sahapur area. He was shot at that time. He was shot in the throat. At the moment he has been brought to Malda Medical College. He is undergoing treatment there.

On Sunday, the body of a BJP activist was recovered at Shimurali of Chakda police station in Nadia. Allegations of murder arose against the Trinamool. Family members have also accused local grassroots activists of murder. Dilip was fixing the line during the voting process at booth number 211 in Shimurali. He was allegedly threatened in front of BJP agent Rishipan Biswas at the time. Then this morning the family members saw his body lying in the garden near the house. At that time blood was coming out from his ears and mouth. He was rushed to Chakdaha State General Hospital. Doctors said Dilip had already died.

On the other hand, the Trinamool was accused of attacking BJP workers in Madhyamgram on Saturday night after the polls. Four BJP workers were injured in the incident. "BJP activist Raj Kumar Ghosh was critically injured. He was first taken to Madhyamgram Rural Hospital. Later his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to Barasat State General Hospital. Others are undergoing treatment at Madhyamgram Rural Hospital," a BJP activist told PTI.
