CM Sarbananada Sonowal have also tweeted about the event. He said,” No Govt, in the past 70 years, had taken any firm steps for the indigenous people of Assam.

With PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s ideal of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas', @BJP4India's engine of development is leading us on the path of progress.

State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said.“A total of 45,141 land pattas were provided till March. With the new land pattas, the total number of land pattas provided has gone up to 1,00,802,”

Netizens have applauded this historic decision of the government in social media:

They also said that the government have truly kept the #JatiMatiBheti promise by providing the Jati (community) with the Mati (land) pattas & thus making the Bheti (foundation) strong. It is noteworthy that most of these lands are snatched from the illegal immigrants who were occupying the land illegally.
