The two sharp shooters killed in 2013 killed Anil Kumar Tyagi, the then deputy jailer of Benares with the help of their accomplices. A reward of 50 thousand rupees was declared on both.
STF (Special Task Force) on Wednesday night shot down two sharp shooters in an encounter in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Both had worked for Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari's gang about 8 years ago. In 2013, both of them killed Anil Kumar Tyagi, the then deputy jailer of Benares with the help of their accomplices. The attack was carried out at the behest of Mukhtar Ansari and Mafia Munna Bajrangi.
Police claim that both were also going to carry out a major incident of Prayagraj on Thursday. There was a reward of 50 thousand on both the crooks.
Both killed in retaliation
STF ADG Amitabh Yash told that the names of the two miscreants killed in the encounter are Rajeev Pandey alias Lawyer Pandey and SH Amjad alias Angad. The two were working for Ajnal Munna Bajrangi and Dilip Mishra Gang. The encounter took place in Arail area of Naini police station area.
Police had put the blockade on hold based on information. When they tried to escape, the police gave chase. The miscreants opened fire on the police to escape. Both were injured in retaliation. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Police recovered 30 and 9 MM pistols, live cartridges, and a motorcycle from the spot.
Sujit Singh's murder associated with RSS was also taken out
STF ADG Amitabh Yash said that on May 28 last year, one lakh prize Neeraj Singh was arrested from the college of mafia Dilip Mishra. He had told during interrogation that at the behest of Dileep, he along with lawyer Pandey had raked three times for killing Sujit Singh, associated with RSS and Samayal Ahmed, son-in-law of Prayagraj's SP leader Nanhe Khan.
Neeraj was caught before committing the crime. Both had also planned to kill a big Ranchi officer. Rajiv had threatened to kill MLA Vijay Mishra in June 2020, following which he made a written complaint to Home Minister Amit Shah.
7,500 encounters in Yogi government, 135 miscreants killed
Since the formation of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh in March 2017, there have been 7,500 encounters between the police and the miscreants so far. Of these, 135 crooks have been killed. More than 2,900 crooks have been injured.
