Hindu Sadhu Case: victim family adamant on demanding 50 lakh compensation and government job, refused to perform last rites; Demonstration started in the village
The priest Babulal Vaishnav was burnt to death by the Dabangs in Bukna village of Sapotra area of Karauli district of Rajasthan. The dead body reached his village from Jaipur late at night. The family has refused the last rites. The family has demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh and a government job to one member.
The family of priest says that the accused should be arrested immediately. Action should also be taken against the patwari and policemen who helped them. The victim's family says they will not perform the last rites until the demands are met. At the same time, protests have also started in the village.
In fact, Babulal was burnt by the villagers of the village by pouring petrol for the land dispute. He died on Thursday while undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital in Jaipur. Police have arrested the main accused Kailash Meena. The search for the remaining accused is ongoing. Bukna village of Karauli is 175 km from Jaipur.
Governor Kalraj Mishra spoke to Ashok Gehlot
Governor Kalraj Mishra called up Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the morning to discuss the crimes being committed in Rajasthan. During this, the governor expressed concern about the law and order of the state including burning of priest in Karauli alive, rape of minor in Barmer.

MP Dr. Kirori Lal Meena, former MLA Mansingh also reached the house of the victim's family and staged a sit-in. Kirodilal Meena said, 'After negotiating with the Panch-Patels of all castes of the village, it has been decided that the priest family should get justice in every situation. Criminals should have strict punishment. I have given financial assistance of one lakh rupees to the family of the priest.
