Violent Mob attacks Bjp national President J.P Nadda convoy today in Bengal
BJP leaders JP Nadda and Kailash Vijayvargiya’s convoys were attacked in Bengal as the two leaders were on their way to Diamond Harbour on Thursday to meet workers for the Bengal elections in 2021.
Stones were hurled at BJP national president JP Nadda's convoy on way to Diamond Harbour in West Bengal, said Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh on Thursday.
Kailash Vijayvargiya’s convoy was also attacked on Thursday and stones were thrown at his vehicle. Vijayvargiya even shared a video showing a cracked windshield of the car he was traveling in
Earlier, Dilip Ghosh had alleged a security lapse at a BJP event attended by JP Nadda on Wednesday, following which the Union Home Ministry sought a report from West Bengal government over the concerns raised by the BJP leaders.
As the convoys of JP Nadda and Vijayvargiya were onway towards Diamond Harbour on Thursday, mob gathered on the streets and attempted to block the road to stop Nadda’s convoy from passing. Protesters also pelted stones at the vehicle. Nadda was on his way to South 24 Paraganas to address a meeting of BJP workers.
Following the attack, police managed to escort the vehicles out of the area.
Dilip Ghosh said, “On our way to Diamond Harbour, TMC supporters blocked the road and pelted Naddaji's vehicle and other cars in the convoy with stones. This only shows the true colour of the TMC.
Reacting to the charges against the ruling Trinamool Congress, party leader Madan Mitra said, "Their own goondas are indulging in violence." Madan Mitra also denied any involvement of the TMC in the attack and said the protests by locals were a "people's revolt".
Another TMC minister Firhad Hakim said, "BJP is bringing outsiders into the state and they do not even inform the state government while doing so"
