Rajya Sabha elections: BJP announced 8 candidates for 10 Rajya Sabha seats in UP, Sanjay Singh's name missing from Amethi, close to Gandhi family

BJP also announced the candidate for one seat in Uttarakhand, former Executive President Naresh Bansal will be the candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat.

BJP has released its list of 8 candidates for elections of 10 Rajya Sabha seats in UP.  In this list, apart from Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, the name of Brij Lal, Chairman of SC ST Commission of UP is also included.  Sanjay Singh, who was an MP from Amethi and once close to the Gandhi family, is missing from the list. Recently he joined BJP.  He is said to have received an assurance that he would go to the Rajya Sabha on a BJP ticket.

Who got a chance

Hardeep Singh Puri, Neeraj Shekhar, Arun Singh, Haridwar Dubey, Brijlal, Geeta Shakya, BL Verma, and Seema Dwivedi have been named candidates for UP elections on November 9.  Hardeep Singh is going to Rajya Sabha from UP for the second consecutive time, while Brijlal, who is close to Mayawati, has also been given a chance.
