The state BJP has protested against the violence that is taking place across the state after the results of the polls. The state BJP staged a sit-in protest in Hastings on Wednesday. J P Nadda also administered the oath of office to the winning BJP candidates. They also opposed the swearing-in ceremony of Mamata Banerjee. At the end of the ceremony, Shuvendu Adhikari, the winner from Nandigram, sneered at Mamata.

There Shuvendu Adhikari spoke on various topics. He demanded a recount of the Trinamool Congress in Nandigram, saying the Election Commission had rejected the recount petition on the same day. Any party can demand a recount. Candidates of any party can file a petition in the court following the recount procedure. If the Returning Officer has anything to say, he will tell the Commission.

Then Shuvendu said about himself, 'I am personally happy. The Chief Minister herself lost, she took the oath! Defeated Chief Minister is taking the oath. I have already said that it (Trinamool Congress) is a 'private limited company. I did not get any chief minister! I pay my respects to all those who boycotted the oath of office today.

Regarding the violent incidents taking place in different parts of the state, Shuvendu said, 'The lost Trinamool candidates of Nandigram are spreading violence themselves. 'Will play,' she said. Showing the real game by torturing women. Numbers don’t say the last word. I also saw in Buddhababu's time, what happened in 6 months! '
