The new mayor of Ahmedabad lives in the slum, Union volunteer Kirit Parmar took over as the mayor of Ahmedabad
Kirit Parmar took over as the new mayor of Ahmedabad on Wednesday. His simplicity is being discussed all over Gujarat. They live in a one-room slum in the city. By giving them this post, BJP has also tried to give the message that even a normal person can go to a big post.
Area councillor for two terms
Kirit Bhai has been a councillor for the last two terms. There is nothing in his house other than just daily necessities. Even the house does not have items like a luxury sofa-fridge. Kirit has been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood. They visit the Sangh branch regularly.
People of the neighbourhood are members of the family
Kirit Bhai, following the rules of the union, decided not to have a lifelong marriage. He is the only one in the family name. Kiritabhai says that after joining the RSS, I had only one goal and that is to serve society and the country. Due to this, I decided to remain single for a lifetime and have been living in this slum for years. The people who live here are my family.
Expressed the party for giving such a big responsibility
Kirit Bhai has taken over as mayor this morning. Speaking to media persons on the occasion, he said, "I thank the BJP, who gave such a big post to an ordinary person living in a slum." I assure you that the schemes being run by the Central Government and the State Government will always strive to reach the common man.
The former mayor lives with the same simplicity
Before Kirit Parmar, Kanaji Thakor was the Mayor of Ahmedabad. They also live like normal people. He had got a government bungalow after becoming the mayor, but he refused to stay in it. Kanji still lives in a one-room house in the Madhupuragam area. He is currently a member of the Ahmedabad Corporation Parliamentary Board.
