TMC goons attacked Suvendu's convoy. Rise of fascism in Bengal !
The Trinamool (TMC) has been accused of attacking the convoy of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in Haldia. The ruling party has denied the allegations. It is learned that Suvendu Adhikari went to the sub-divisional governor's office in Haldia to fetch Joy's certificate. It is alleged that the grassroots people surrounded him as soon as his car approached. Shuvendu turned the car around and went back. Huge police arrived at the scene. The BJP alleges that grassroots activists have warned of 'bleaching in front of the police'.
The District Information Officer said that Suvendu Adhikari got 1 lakh 9 thousand 73 votes. Mamata Banerjee got 1 lakh 8 thousand 936 votes. United Front-backed CPM candidate Meenakshi Mukherjee got 6,196 votes. Suvendu Adhikari is ahead in the clear results. Soon after, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) demanded a recount. Mamata's election agent Sheikh Sufian demanded that the postal ballot be recounted to the returning officer. The returning officer said that no recount would be done.
