PALGHAR:

Small Mouth Two-Headed shark fish have been found in Satpati village in Palghar district of Maharashtra. The picture of this fish is becoming very viral on social media. After getting information about the case, the fisheries team has contacted the fisherman who caught it.

According to the information, Nitin Patil, a resident of Satpati village, has caught this double-faced shark from the sea. They went to sea fishing as usual and this two-faced baby shark caught in the net last Thursday. The length of this baby shark is said to be just 6 inches.

Umesh Palekar said, “We have never seen anything like this before. We believe one of the larger sharks may have given birth to this double-headed shark baby. We shared pictures with researchers from the Indian Council for Agricultural Research - Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), Mumbai. "

Two-headed shark is found for the first time in the country Nitin says that when she caught this shark, she was alive and left it back in the sea, considering it rare. Experts at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute said this is the first case in the country of a two-headed baby shark.

Earlier today, no such shark has been seen in India. A few years ago researchers in Mexico discovered a two-headed shark. This is the second such incident after 2016.

Chances of this happening due to fetal failure Doctors state that this rare phenomenon is called disulfide and this discrepancy can be seen in many other animal species. This may be due to fetal malfunction. Shark fish is one of the largest living organisms on Earth. It can live for about 150 years.
